A confrontation at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville escalated into gunfire during a civil debt hearing involving 28-year-old livestreamer Dalton Eatherly, known online as “ChudTheBuilder,” resulting in two people being hospitalized, including Eatherly.

According to authorities, the incident began while Eatherly was attending proceedings related to a debt case inside the courthouse. During the exchange, he allegedly made a provocative remark toward another man present, asking if he was going to “chimp out.” Officials say the comment quickly heightened tensions in the room and was followed by an immediate physical response, with the man striking Eatherly.

Investigators report that the situation escalated further after the altercation. Eatherly then reportedly produced a firearm and discharged multiple shots in or near the courthouse area. During the incident, he sustained a graze wound to his arm. One of the bullets struck 31-year-old Army veteran Joshua Fox, causing injuries to his shoulder and abdomen.

Emergency services responded rapidly, providing medical aid at the scene before transporting both Eatherly and Fox to nearby hospitals. Authorities confirmed that both individuals were in stable condition following treatment, though further details regarding their recovery have not been released.

Law enforcement secured the courthouse shortly after the shooting, halting proceedings while investigators processed the scene and gathered witness statements. Officials have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public, but emphasized that the investigation remains active due to the severity and complexity of the incident.

The case has drawn widespread attention given that it occurred inside a courthouse and escalated quickly from a verbal confrontation to gunfire. Authorities continue to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the shooting.
